Animal Tales Fun Day at Walford Mill

Bank Holiday Monday 2014?  Yes, it did RAIN  or should that read POURED!

However it did not stop play and the wonderful selection of family craft and fun activities came inside the Historic Mill Building instead.

The summer exhibition ' In The Dead of Night' inspired by nocturnal animals became the focus of the crafts for children, and the theme around which I crafted a bespoke set of stories for family audiences.

Performing both in the amazing gallery, and  the cosy workshop space while the children created, I told tales of 'How Bat came to Be', 'Why Bat Hangs Upside Down', 'The Bravest Owl', 'Fox and the Scary Thing', 'The Bravest Owl' and for Tinies 'Mole and the Moon'.

Despite the weather there was a busy buzz around the place, great listening and lots of laughter.

All in all it was a wonderful time and super to be involved in this event as part of the Sting in the Tale Festival. I am looking forward to events next year... though hoping for drier day!
