When I first started teaching 12 years ago, my school was visited by a storyteller who captivated both my class and myself with his tales. I remember thinking "Wow, what a fantastic job... imagine telling stories for a living".
In 2010, inspired by a storytelling workshop at a summer festival, I felt drawn to learn more, recalled this memory and decided to look him up...
And that is how I found myself at my first club night of The New Forest Storytellers, and immersed in a fellowship of stories, humour and wealth of professional experience.
I am now proud to be part of this group, performing regularly at club nights, participating in The Sting in The Tale festival together, and looking forward to engaging more adults with storytelling from our monthly venue at The Boston Tea Party Cafe, Ringwood every third Thursday!
